"I'm only one person. What can one person do to change the world..."

Audio Passage
00:00 / 03:43

We have all experienced our highs and lows; our ups and downs. We've been through darkness and we've seen the light. We are all on our own journeys, and all at different stages of our own paths. At times we've needed help, at times we've been the help.

Take a moment and let that sink in. We easily take this for granted, but right now, in this moment, allow that to permeate through your soul, just for this moment.

Permeating. Resonating. Vibrating.

Matching the frequency of your thoughts, feelings, emotions.

Meeting you where you are, wherever that may be.

What can one person do to change the world? Allow those words to guide you. Allow them to assist in your decision making. Allow those words to dictate how you treat other people, how you treat yourself. How can one person change the world? Compassion.

When we see someone in need, we want to help. It's who we are. It's how we are. This is how one person changes the world: Acknowledge that a small amount of what you would consider "excess" could be life changing for someone in need. You don't need that someone to be desperately knocking on your door, you already know they're there; everywhere. Let The Aspen Project be the conduit between your desire and ability to help, and the nameless and faceless people seeking any assistance they can find.

Start a monthly donation today to begin helping our friends, neighbors, communities find their way out of what darkness they may be trapped in.

On an individual level, it doesn't take much. $5 a month from 1000 people would create quite an impact for anyone in need. The success of this project depends on you, what you're able to give, and how many people you're willing to share this platform with.

Does it seem like your sharing and $5 won't mean anything? Consider this:

If the average person has 500 Facebook friends, and they share their excitement about the project, 5% also donate and share, 10% only share. This post/project now has 25 donors, and 50 sharers (and $125 in donations). If that happens ONE more time [1,250 donors; 2,500 sharers; $6,250 in donations]. If that happens TWO more times [62,500 donors; 125,200 sharers; and $312,500 in monthly donations]. Let's do one more, just THREE more times [3,125,000 donors; 6,250,000 sharers; $15,625,000 in monthly donations!!]

This is after only THREE rounds of shares after yours, and only assuming 500 Facebook friends, and only assuming 1 in 20 wants to support for only $5. These are low estimations of the impact this could generate. What sort of impact could a charity generating 15 Million dollars a month make? It could change the world, and it started with YOU!

"$15,000,000?! That's a lot of money! Where does it go?!?"

We can hook you in right here, or scare you away. Before walking away, I would urge you to make your way through this section and understand the greater purpose. Yes, this is designed to help individuals, but the end game is even more impactful, please read on...

Where does it go? To whoever needs it. It's as simple as that. No underwriting, no speculation, no judgement, and no hierarchy or subjectivity of the word "NEED". As donations are flowing in, so are requests for financial help. As stated above, we're all on our own journey, and at different stages of our paths. A "need" could be a new hot water heater, a new car, or a new kidney. The recipients of the donations are selected at random so the weight of the "needs" are equal.

Every Monday the donation account is frozen and the balance reported. Recipients are selected at random, and purchasing arrangements are made. Every week the process starts over. And every bit of it is visible on this website. Transparency behind what is received, and transparency behind what is dispersed.

The goal is to have an immediate impact to as many recipients as possible, but still awarding as large of payments as possible. $15,000,000 would by a whole lot of water heaters, but instead it will buy Robert's house for him, start Becca's new business, send the Murray's kids to college, and a few cars and appliances for others with what remains.

This "opening impact" is obvious. But, the mid-game is special...

What are you passionate about that you cannot afford to do? Would you be a singer? a painter? a ski instructor? a rafting guide? Would you rescue animals? Shelter children?Would you start a blog about touring with your favorite band? Would you start a business doing the same work you already do, but the right way? So many of us have such big dreams and such big hearts, and so many "if only's". Imagine a world where all of this was possible because we were all able to rely on our desire to help our fellow man? No more car payments, no more mortgages, no more credit scores, no more interest! Imagine the 9-5 corporate work being reserved for the people that wanted it, were passionate about it, not bound to it out of financial necessity. No more traffic jams, no more rat race.

Is this socialism? Sure sounds like it, doesn't it? It's not. It's community. It's a population willing to part with a small amount of their "extra" knowing that it's going to a cause that eliminates the need for "extra". It's building a society that values passions more than production ability. We are no longer worshipping the dollar, and no longer beholden to those that control it. Your donations are truly buying your freedom from the biggest slaveowner in existence: Money.

This is the ambitious mid-game of The Aspen Project. The end game is The Aspen Network.
